A Winning Time at our Race Night !
Thank you to everyone who supported our Race night on Saturday. A great time was had by one and all and we are delighted to report that we raised an absolutely whopping £1600 which will pay for 80 rides and lots of smiles this summer term. THANK YOU !
Irwin Mitchell Does The Spartan Race for Us !
Huge thanks to the 8 fantastic chaps at Irwin Mitchell LLP who took part in the Spartan Race on 7th April 2018 at St Clere Sevenoaks to raise money for Digswell Place Group RDA. They completed a 12 km race with 25+ obstacles and 8 + miles of rugged terrain ....astounding !!!!!!!! Drum roll......... to date they have raised an amazing £3490.00 and we can't thank them enough ! WOW Dogs and Daffs raised ….
What a fabulous day: beautiful daffodils, lovely walks, gorgeous dogs, delicious crepes, tasty burgers, treats for the dogs, training advice on hand, vet advice and so much fun to be had doing the scurry, agility, fly-ball and of course the marvellous dog show ! Your amazing generosity at our fourth Dogs & Daffs Day raised £5,650....WOW !!! THANK YOU !!! We are absolutely thrilled with this, it will enable us to pay for new pony so we can give more therapeutic rides. Come and Place Your Bets at Our Race Night !
Saturday 28th April 2018 at Welwyn Civic Centre at 7pm. Back due to popular demand this fun event involving reeling wooden horses in on pulleys is returning. It’s Back ! Sunday 25th March 2018 – Dogs and Daffs
Hooray !! Thanks to the kindness of Lord and Lady Salisbury we will be holding our 4th Dogs and Daffs event at Hatfield House on Sunday 25th March 2018 09:30am to 4:00pm to raise money for Digswell Place Group RDA. During the day walkers will be able to enjoy Hatfield Park exclusively for a small donation to the charity and dog lovers will be able to enter into a fun dog show, which has a new category for 2018 - the Egg and Spoon race! Thank You to Welwyn Garden City Masonic Lodge
A huge thank you to Alan Tyler and Malcolm Tebbutt from the Masonic Lodge of Welwyn Garden City who were delighted to be able to donate £2500 to Digswell Place Group RDA from funds raised at an annual Garden Party fundraiser held jointly with Knebworth Lodge. The event, held in Alan Tyler's garden in Burnham Green, saw more than 400 people turn out to raise a grand total of £10,000 to be split amongst several charities including The Mixed Group, Isabel Hospice, The Hertfordshire Air Ambulance and Digswell Place Group Riding for the Disabled all based in and around Welwyn [...]
Three Cheers for the Co-op Local Community Fund
A huge THANK YOU to the members of the Co-op who live in and around the Welwyn Garden City area who chose to support Digswell Place Group Riding for the Disabled charity. Since September 2016 the Co-op Local Community Fund has raised £9,865 for Digswell Place RDA. During the last year our local volunteers enabled us to provide 1769 rides; transforming dreams to reality for 106 people with disabilities. We need to raise £18 per ride and the Co-op Local Community Fund donation funded a fantastic 548 rides. Your contributions made a REAL difference. THANK YOU
Bunny Ears !!
Huge thanks to Pansanger Youth F.C. whose generous donations have enabled us to buy "Bunny Ears" as well as some more equipment and tack ! These little adaptations are fantastic for our riders as they enable the child to sit up better on the saddle rather than leaning forward to hold the strap. They are also a great forerunner as it teaches little hands how to hold your wrists and fingers in preparation for reins.
